At its most basic, Acting is the art of effectively communicating a story: one human, sharing honestly with another.

Acting is a whole-body practice, a dialogue with an audience that moves much like the cleansing cycle of a breath: inhale and exhale, an exchange that transforms, cleanses, and rejuvenates.

An L.A.-based theatre-maker and educator, Danika Sudik collaborates with individuals and ensembles to discover artful (and efficient) approaches to inspired performances. Each mind-body instrument has unique strengths. By developing it to be more receptive and adaptable, individuals build a repertoire of earned confidence in approaching their environment, character, and interpersonal challenges on and off the stage.
Dedicated to the practice of sustainable creativity and authentic communication, Ms. Sudik roots her rigorous performance training practice in the concepts of relationship, compassion, and play. Ms. Sudik's education programs, workshops, and curricula have been used by Center Theatre Group, The Broad Stage, Bonnie Franklin's Classic & Contemporary American Plays, University of California, Davis, and K-12 classrooms throughout Southern California.
Danika Sudik co-founded the Ground and Field Theatre Festival, a three-year project produced with the University of California, Davis Department of Theatre and Dance. GFTF was a sandbox for international playwrights and theatre-makers committed to sustainable production practices and spotlighting urgent new narratives engaging themes of social, economic, and environmental justice.
Ms. Sudik's work (directing and producing) was nominated for several awards for the Los Angeles Theatre Ensemble's critically acclaimed War Cycle by Tom Burmester.   The LA Weekly honored the War Cycle for "Excellence in Technical Accomplishments and Breadth of Vision." A project still unfolding, the War Cycle currently contains three plays that concentrate on those affected by America's wars since 9/11. Each process begins with extensive interviews with veterans and the families of service people, in-depth exploration with actors, and culminates with performance.

Ms. Sudik fulfills her storytelling vocation through parenting, acting, directing, dramaturgy, and education. She holds an M.F.A. in Dramatic Arts from the University of California, Davis, and a B.A. in Theatre, Film, and Television from UCLA.
