Winner of Best Puppet Design Monkey Madness mashes satire, clowning, pantomime, dance, music and puppetry together into a wild and grotesque theatrical event. The play follows a simple story about Monkey Boy, whose wish is to evolve into a human being, and the tribe of monkeys and apes that try to adapt to the new culture of ʻhumanityʼ. They both lead to the same question, “What does it mean to be human?” and climax with a war between the monkeys and apes (“Feces will FLY!”). Written & Directed by Daisuke Tsuji Puppet Design by Cristina Bercovitz Produced by Danika Sudik & The Los Angles Theatre Ensemble |
